Rainbow and sunset with lovers’ moon September 30, 2011

It was a cloudy day with very scattered rainshowers.  Perfect weather for this lover of ferns.

Looking southeast, over Burbank.

(Above)  I love the cloud that looks like a ghost horse or dragon landing on the rainbow.

(Above) Looking west.

(Below) “Lovers’ moons” are so named because their faint light allows lovers to tryst at night without being seen.

May the mysteries of the universe fill you with wonder.

Well, dude, thanks for your appreciation, and yes, we do live in a place of great beauty–at least when it’s seen from certain angles, in certain light, at certain times of year…

    A crescent appears
    silver in the inky sky:
    the new year begins.

    The beauty of life
    and new possibilities
    unfold before you.
