Another hike with friends

This afternoon I went walking with two friends from work — Joanne Spangler and Ed McBride — and took these photos near Mount Boney, outside Newbury Park, California.

This lovely rock formation is part of the Santa Monica Mountains.  As you can see, wild mustard is blooming right now.

According to Joanne, Mount Boney is part of Chumash Native American holy ground, a mecca for vision quests.

As it got darker, the light got more interesting, as the light often does towards dark.

The sky was already a frothy delight, like some of my writing.

Then it got all moody and intense, like some of my moods.
